Typhoon Marce Leaves 300 Homes Damaged in Region 1, Thousands Affected

Typhoon Marce has caused widespread damage in Region 1, leaving nearly 300 homes destroyed across the provinces of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.

According to Mr. Adreanne Pagsolingan, Information Officer of the Office of Civil Defense – Region 1, a total of 247 homes were partially damaged, while five were completely destroyed.

A total of 1,418 families, or 4,055 individuals, have been affected by the typhoon, with 381 families still staying in evacuation centers and 41 families temporarily relocated to the homes of relatives.

Reports have indicated one injury and one person missing, although these cases are still being verified to determine if they are related to Typhoon Marce.

The municipality of Pagudpud has been declared under a State of Calamity due to the severe impact of the typhoon.

The Office of Civil Defense – Region I is currently consolidating the damages in the agriculture and infrastructure sectors.
