The movement of Typhoon Enteng, internationally known as Yagi, has accelerated and was last observed over the coastal waters of Vinzons, Camarines Norte.

The typhoon is moving northwest at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour, nearly double its previous speed of 15 km/h.

It is expected that the typhoon will maintain its speed until tonight and could potentially reach the coastal areas of Isabela and Cagayan. Maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and gusts up to 80 km/h are being carried by the storm.

While over the sea, it is anticipated that the storm will continue to strengthen and could develop into a severe tropical storm or typhoon as it approaches extreme northern Luzon. TCWS Nos. 3 and 4 could be the highest signals issued for Northern Luzon.

A landfall in mainland Northern Luzon or the Babuyan Islands is possible. Rainfall in mainland Luzon is expected today due to the typhoon, but its direction may shift due to an emerging ridge of high pressure.

Typhoon Enteng is predicted to bring heavy to intense rainfall and strong winds to Northern Luzon, particularly in extreme northern Luzon. The enhanced southwest monsoon will continue to cause heavy rainfall and gusty winds in Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas.
