Two Suspects Surrender in Baguio City Road Rage Shooting Incident

BAGUIO CITY – Two suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man along Km5, Asin Road, Baguio City, on October 1, 2024, have surrendered to authorities.

The victim, identified as Jansel Pelayo, a driver and resident of Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet, was shot following a road rage incident.

According to PMaj. Harriet Bulcio, Information Officer of the Baguio City Police Office, the suspects turned themselves in early this morning, but their names have not been disclosed.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim’s SUV overtook a taxi driven by one of the suspects. The altercation escalated when the suspects blocked Pelayo’s vehicle, dragged him out, and shot him.

The suspects admitted during police questioning that they were intoxicated at the time of the crime.

Authorities are currently detaining the suspects, and charges are being prepared for filing.
