Two Minors Suspected in Tacloban City Hold-Up Incident

A hold-up incident was reported in Tacloban City, specifically in the area between Fatima and Calanipawan.

According to PLtCol Allan Camasin, head of the Tacloban City Police Office City Affairs & Development Unit, the suspects are both 16 years old.

Investigations revealed that the two victims were walking home from an event when they encountered a stationary vehicle in Calanipawan.

Suddenly, two suspects emerged from the vehicle, with one threatening a victim with a knife, while the other managed to escape.

The suspects stole a bag containing cash and other valuables from one of the victims.

The victims immediately reported the incident to the police, who responded swiftly.

Authorities later spotted the suspects in Sagkahan, but upon realizing the presence of law enforcement, they attempted to flee.

During the chase, one suspect collided with a motorcycle-riding officer, while another tried to escape in a vehicle.

A police officer shot the tire of the suspects’ vehicle, causing it to flatten, leading to their capture near LEYECO.

One suspect managed to escape, while the other was arrested and charged with criminal offenses.

Authorities are still investigating the ownership of the vehicle used by the suspects.
