Two Dead, One Injured in Sta. Cruz Motorcycle Crash

A motorcycle driver from Lagayan, Abra is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide and damage to property after a fatal crash in Barangay Sagat, Sta. Cruz.

The incident occurred along the national highway where the suspect, operating a Yamaha NMAX motorcycle, collided with two riders aboard a Honda Click motorcycle.

The victims, both aged 28 and residents of Sta. Lucia, were reportedly attempting a U-turn when the speeding NMAX driver struck them.

Initial police findings confirmed severe head injuries sustained by both Honda Click riders, leading to their death despite emergency medical intervention.

The NMAX driver, aged 34, suffered minor injuries to his hand but survived the incident.

Sta. Cruz Municipal Police, through PLt. Ivyn Kyle Delorino, confirmed that the driver was taken into custody but released after posting ₱36,000 bail.

Authorities emphasized the importance of road safety and further investigation remains ongoing to determine liability and potential aggravating factors.
