Tropical Depression Spotted Near PAR; Southwest Monsoon to Bring Rains, Thunderstorms Across Regions

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring a tropical depression located 1,920 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon (25.0°N, 140.0°E) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The system has maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h and gustiness reaching up to 55 km/h, moving slowly westward.

Although currently outside PAR, this tropical depression may influence weather patterns across the country, combining with the southwest monsoon (habagat) to bring varied rainfall across key regions.

  • Negros Island Region
  • Zambales
  • Bataan
  • Palawan
  • Occidental Mindoro Impact: Possible flash floods and landslides from moderate to heavy rain.

Cloudy Skies with Scattered Rains and Thunderstorms:

  • Metro Manila
  • Mindanao
  • Rest of Visayas
  • Cavite
  • Batangas Impact: Occasional heavy downpours may trigger flash floods or landslides.
