Tricycle Driver, Two Passengers Dead After Collision With Bus

A 65-year-old tricycle driver and his two female passengers were killed after their vehicle was hit by a passenger bus along the national highway in Brgy. San Pablo, Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur.

According to the Sto. Domingo Municipal Police Station, the tricycle driver was a resident of Brgy. Paras, while the two female passengers, known by aliases Michelle and Grace, were both residents of Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

The 42-year-old bus driver involved in the crash is a resident of Brgy. Pagsanaan, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur.

Initial police investigation revealed that the tricycle had stopped on the roadside, facing north.

The tricycle driver attempted a U-turn after checking the northbound lane but failed to notice an oncoming bus heading south, leading to the fatal collision.

The tricycle driver and his two passengers sustained multiple injuries from the impact.

Emergency responders from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, and Rural Health Unit immediately brought the victims to Magsingal District Hospital.

The two passengers were declared dead on arrival, while the tricycle driver succumbed to his injuries at the hospital despite the attending doctor’s efforts to revive him.

The bus driver and his passengers were unharmed in the incident.
