Tricycle Driver Dies After Collision with Elf Truck

Tricycle driver dies in collision with an elf truck along Manila North Road in Barangay Baay, Batac City.

The victim, a 61-year-old tricycle driver, was a resident of Barangay Darayday in Laoag City.

The elf truck driver, aged 36, was a resident of Barangay Tubburan in Bacarra.

A 42-year-old driver of a White Ford Ranger pickup was also involved in the incident and is a resident of Barangay Baay in Batac City.

According to the Batac City Police Station, the tricycle was heading north when it attempted to overtake a pickup.

However, the tricycle driver failed to notice an oncoming elf truck traveling south, resulting in a collision.

The impact caused severe head injuries to the tricycle driver, who was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Hayzell Joy Resurreccion, Medical Officer III.

The drivers of the pickup and elf truck were unharmed.
