Three people died, while three others sustained injuries in a collision involving three motorcycles in Victoria, Mallig, Isabela.
According to PCapt. Richard Binalay, Deputy Chief of Police of the Mallig Police Station, the incident occurred when a Honda XRM, driven by Julius Ceasar with passenger Albert Bolivar, attempted to overtake a four-wheel vehicle along the national highway heading south.
During the overtaking maneuver, the motorcycle collided with an oncoming Suzuki Smash, driven by Russel Antonio, who was traveling with passenger Justine, both residents of Manano, Mallig, Isabela.
The strong impact caused another approaching motorcycle, carrying Joel Verrano of Carmencita, Delfin Albano, and John Ray of Manano, Mallig, Isabela, to be involved in the accident.
Antonio died on the spot, while Justine and Julius Ceasar were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
The three injured victims are currently recovering at a medical facility.
PCapt. Binalay confirmed that none of the riders involved were under the influence of alcohol but noted that Julius Ceasar miscalculated the overtaking attempt, leading to the crash.
Authorities also revealed that none of the victims were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
