Team Caraga Represents the Philippines at Thailand Tropical Downhill Race 2024

BUTUAN CITY – Two cyclists from Caraga region are representing the Philippines at the prestigious Thailand Tropical Downhill Race 2024, held in Nakuha Phrae, Thailand.

Earl Maquirato from Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, and Rydelle Abarico from Alegria, Surigao del Norte, are competing in the pro category of the event, which began with time trials on December 7, 2024.

The competition gathers 81 elite athletes from various countries, vying for the coveted title in the pro division.

Local officials, including Nasipit Mayor Roscoe Plaza and Alegria Mayor Rene Esma, provided full support to ensure the athletes are well-equipped and prepared.

The participation of Team Caraga in this international competition highlights the region’s talent and dedication to sports excellence.
