Teacher and Child Killed in Mini Van Collision in M’lang, Cotabato

The driver of a mini van faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property after a collision killed a teacher and her child in M’lang, Cotabato.

M’lang Municipal Police Station identified the driver as 57-year-old Jose Eapino Managuit, a resident of Purok 7, La Esperanza, Tulunan, Cotabato.

Authorities reported that Managuit attempted to overtake another vehicle but failed to notice the victims approaching from the opposite direction.

The victims were identified as 38-year-old teacher Janelyn Pino from Barangay Inas, M’lang, and her 13-year-old son, Sean Andrew Damcel, a student at M’lang National High School.

The impact of the collision threw the victims off the road, leaving their motorcycle destroyed, severely damaging the van, and injuring the driver.

Police have prepared charges against the mini van driver to ensure accountability for the fatal accident.
