According to PMAJ Sharon Mallillin, information officer of Police Regional Office 2, police were forced to return fire after the suspect immediately drew his gun and fired at operatives, leading to his death.

Authorities confirmed Xander’s involvement in the fatal shooting of two Bulacan police officers during a gun buy-bust operation on March 8 this year. CCTV footage linked him to the crime.

Following the shooting, Xander reportedly took a Glock 9mm pistol from one of the slain officers, which he later used in the encounter.
