Suspect Identified in the Murder of 18-Year-Old Woman

BAGUIO CITY – Authorities have identified the suspect in the gruesome murder of an 18-year-old woman in Purok 21, San Carlos Heights, Irisan, Baguio City on September 20, 2024.

The victim, identified as Kacey Gabriel Alberto Labayen, a native of Nueva Vizcaya and a customer care assistant at a bar along Bokawkan Road, was found dead inside her boarding house.

Labayen suffered multiple stab wounds, including four to her chest and two to her abdomen.

According to PMaj. Harriet Bulcio, Information Officer of the Baguio City Police Office, the suspect was identified through CCTV footage and witness testimonies.

However, the police have yet to release the suspect’s name as they prepare the necessary evidence for an arrest and filing of charges.

As of now, the motive behind the crime remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.

The victim’s body was discovered in a bloody state inside her room, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Authorities continue to work on gathering more information to secure justice for Labayen.
