South Korean President to Visit the Philippines for State Visit on October 6-7

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol is scheduled to arrive in the Philippines for a State Visit from October 6 to 7, 2024.

President Yoon and his wife, First Lady Kim Keon Hee, will be welcomed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos during an official ceremony at Malacañang Palace on Monday, October 7.

The visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and South Korea.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the two leaders will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss various areas of mutual interest, including cooperation in political, security, defense, maritime, economic, and development fields.

The talks will also focus on people-to-people ties, labor, and consular matters.

Additionally, both presidents are expected to exchange views on regional and international issues, strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two nations.

This marks the first bilateral visit by a South Korean president to the Philippines since 2011.
