Son Arrested for Killing Mother

A mother was killed by her son in Sitio Banga-an, Barangay Dinwede West, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur.

The victim was identified as 54-year-old Adilina Bagbago Bayawa, a resident of the area.

The suspect is her 24-year-old son, Rackson Bagbago Bayawa.

Authorities from the Cervantes Police Station responded to the scene, where the suspect voluntarily surrendered.

He also turned over the wooden object he used to fatally strike his mother.

According to Elicio Bayawa Bagbago, another son of the victim, he discovered his mother lying in a pool of blood behind their house around 5:00 PM on December 20, 2024.

The suspect reportedly admitted to having an argument with his mother before striking her on the head with the wooden object, resulting in her death.

The Cervantes Police Station has taken the suspect into custody to ensure proper legal proceedings are followed.
