Four regions in the Philippines are facing threats of heavy rainfall and widespread flooding due to the ongoing shear line and northeast monsoon.

The affected areas include CALABARZON (Quezon, Rizal), MIMAROPA (Palawan, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro), the Bicol Region (Catanduanes, Albay, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Masbate, Camarines Norte), and Eastern Visayas (Samar, Southern Leyte, Leyte, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran).

The state weather bureau has advised local governments to monitor water levels in rivers and nearby communities due to potential flooding.

Residents are urged to stay updated on advisories from their local governments and national agencies to respond promptly to orders.

On Tuesday, heavy rains are expected in parts of the country due to three prevailing weather systems: shear line, northeast monsoon, and easterlies.

The easterlies will bring rain and thunderstorms to Eastern Visayas, while the northeast monsoon will cause rainfall in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Bicol, MIMAROPA, and Quezon.

The combination of the shear line and monsoon is forecasted to produce moderate to heavy rains in Quezon and surrounding provinces.

Flash floods and landslides are possible in the affected areas.

The rest of Luzon may experience light rains, while isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected nationwide.

Rough sea conditions are expected in Northern Luzon and the eastern parts of the country, while Mindanao will experience calm winds and seas.
