Ara Mina and Shamcey Supsup file candidacies for Pasig City Council

Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup and actress Ara Mina have filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for councilor of Pasig City’s 1st and 2nd Districts, respectively.

Both personalities are running under the slate of St. Gerrard Construction and Development Corporation Chief Financial Officer Sarah Discaya, who is challenging incumbent Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto in the 2025 Local and National Elections.

In Ara’s statement during her filing, she emphasized that celebrities who enter politics should not be underestimated.

“Alalahanin niyo, ang mga celebrities, nagpapaiyak, nagpapasaya rin sa inyo. Siguro ito yung mission namin ngayon. Kung meron man silang bad experience, wag nila sigurong lahatin. Ako bilang kakandidato, gusto ko lang sabihin na kung bibigyan niyo ako ng chance, hindi ko hahayaang masayang po yung boto niyo sa akin.”

Meanwhile, in Star FM Manila’s interview with Shamcey, she shared that she intends to help Pasig become more progressive.

“Isang dekada na akong nakatira sa Pasig. Dito mismo, kung saan ako nakatira, marami pang pwedeng gawin. Siguro I will start small, I will start at my home.”
