Severe Weather Alert: Typhoon Pepito to Drench Luzon and Visayas

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall as Typhoon Pepito threatens to bring intense to torrential downpours over parts of Luzon and Visayas.

From today until tomorrow afternoon, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Camarines Norte are expected to experience intense to torrential rainfall exceeding 200 mm.

Heavy to intense rains, ranging from 100 to 200 mm, are likely in Quezon, Northern Samar, and Sorsogon, while moderate to heavy rainfall between 50 and 100 mm will affect Aurora, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Marinduque, Samar, Leyte, Biliran, Eastern Samar, and Masbate.

By tomorrow afternoon through Monday afternoon, Quezon, Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Benguet, and Pangasinan will experience intense to torrential rainfall exceeding 200 mm.

Heavy to intense rains are forecasted for La Union, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Bulacan, Zambales, Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, and Camarines Norte.

Moderate to heavy rainfall will extend to Marinduque, Camarines Sur, Batangas, Cagayan, Isabela, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Kalinga, Abra, and Ilocos Sur.

PAGASA warns that rainfall in mountainous and elevated areas may be more severe, and areas with significant antecedent rainfall could see worsened impacts.

The public and disaster risk reduction offices are urged to take all necessary precautions to safeguard lives and properties. Regional PAGASA divisions may issue localized Heavy Rainfall Warnings and other relevant advisories as needed.
