A senior House leader has revealed that suspicious individuals bearing the surnames of lawmakers and a well-known bakeshop allegedly received confidential funds from Vice President Sara Duterte.

According to Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V of La Union, the list of questionable recipients of the VP Sara Duterte confidential funds continues to grow with the discovery of names resembling those of sitting senators and other prominent figures.

Among the newly revealed names are “Beth Revilla,” “Janice Marie Revilla,” “Diane Maple Lapid,” “John A. Lapid Jr.,” “Clarisse Hontiveros,” “Kristine Applegate Estrada,” and “Denise Tanya Escudero,” all of which share surnames with current senators.

Also listed is the curious name “Mary Grace Piattos,” along with “Cannor Adrian Contis,” and individuals named “Kris Solon” and “Paul M. Solon,” which bear similarity to Sarangani Representative Steve Chiongbian Solon.

Ortega emphasized that the frequency and creativity of these names suggest a systematic attempt to obscure the actual recipients of the confidential funds rather than mere clerical mistakes.

He noted that, like previously flagged entries, these names do not appear in the birth, marriage, or death records maintained by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

While the Senate impeachment trial is set to begin on June 2, the camp of Vice President Duterte has yet to issue a statement regarding the allegations and questionable entries.

Ortega warned that the matter has surpassed clerical errors and now points to a deliberate effort to conceal the real beneficiaries of public money.
