Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa is set to press PAGCOR Senior Vice President for Security, Retired General Raul Villanueva, to name the former chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) allegedly receiving monthly payments from the illegal operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) Alice Guo.

Dela Rosa, speaking at a press conference, emphasized the need for clarity on the identity of the PNP chief Villanueva claimed to be on Guo’s payroll.

The senator criticized the release of such information without accompanying evidence and expressed concern about the demoralizing effect these allegations could have on the PNP.

This is the first time Dela Rosa has heard of such a claim, and he noted that retired police officials are also dismayed by the accusations, warning that baseless rumors could harm the police force’s morale.

However, the senator stressed that if a PNP chief is indeed involved in bribery, they must face legal consequences.
