Senate President Chiz Escudero Denies Ouster Plot Rumors

Senate President Chiz Escudero has dismissed rumors of an alleged plot to remove him from his position, clarifying that he has no intention of engaging in such speculation.

Escudero emphasized that there is a strong camaraderie among the senators, leaving no reason for him to be ousted. “There is no truth to this issue, and I do not wish to dignify it further,” he stated.

The rumors surfaced after reports claimed that Senators Cynthia Villar and Loren Legarda were allegedly pushing for his removal.

However, Villar firmly denied the allegations, reiterating her support for Escudero’s leadership.

Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa also rejected the rumors, saying that the Senate should not be disrupted by baseless speculations.

Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, while also denying involvement, confirmed that some had heard discussions regarding the supposed ouster.

Despite these circulating rumors, Escudero and his fellow senators have maintained that there are no internal movements to remove him as Senate President.
