Senator Ronald dela Rosa has expressed support for a proposed law that would impose a firing squad for corrupt officials as a solution to the country’s corruption problem.

In an exclusive interview on Bombo Radyo’s “The Vote 2025” program, the senator and former Philippine National Police chief argued that honest officials should have nothing to fear.

He pointed out that despite numerous anti-corruption laws, graft remains rampant, and suggested that such a severe measure could deter wrongdoing or discourage some from running for office.

However, Dela Rosa admitted that passing a law for a firing squad on corrupt officials would be extremely challenging.

The proposal faces a major legal hurdle, as the Philippines currently has no law permitting the death penalty.
