According to the account of a colleague, Noel Taburnal Pontaran, while he was on duty at their post, Canades suddenly returned, took their service firearm (a caliber 9mm), and immediately took his own life by shooting himself.

Police officers immediately responded to the incident and discovered that before the suicide, the victim was allegedly responsible for stabbing his wife.

According to the official, Canades and his wife had a heated argument that resulted in the security guard stabbing her.
