Rider Dies, Passenger Injured After Falling into 150-Meter Ravine on Kennon Road

A rider dies in a Kennon Road accident after his motorcycle fell into a 150-meter ravine in Sitio Tokang, Camp 3, Tuba, Benguet, on February 26, 2025.

According to the Tuba Municipal Police Station (MPS), at around 11:55 a.m., a Honda motorcycle driven by John Nino Alicante was traveling toward Baguio City when it suddenly veered into the southbound lane.

The motorcycle crashed into a concrete barrier before plunging into the ravine.

Rescue teams from Tuba MPS, along with Barangay Camp 3 and Barangay Twinpeaks officials, immediately responded to the scene.

The back rider, identified as Angel Mabitasan, was rushed to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for urgent medical attention.

Authorities found Alicante unconscious at the crash site.

By 1:58 p.m., he was declared dead at the scene.

An initial assessment indicated that severe head trauma, skull fractures, and multiple injuries were likely the cause of death.

His remains were taken to Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes on Marcos Highway in Baguio City.

Meanwhile, the injured passenger remains under medical care.
