Retired Soldier Shot Dead by Riding-in-Tandem Gunmen

A retired soldier was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle along Diversion Road in Barangay Cabaroan, Bantay, Ilocos Sur.

The victim was identified as Zosimo Blanco, a retired soldier and resident of Barangay Vacunero, Sto. Domingo.

According to Police Captain Donaldson Pagalanan of the Bantay Municipal Police Station, Blanco was on his way to Vigan City Public Market to buy meat for his business.

While riding his tricycle, he was approached by two unidentified assailants on a scooter and was shot multiple times, sustaining gunshot wounds to his back and leg.

Authorities recovered five spent shells believed to be from a .45 caliber firearm at the crime scene.

The suspects were seen riding a scooter with orange, white, and black colors.

Police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the motive behind the attack and identify the perpetrators.
