SAGIP Partylist Representative Rodante Marcoleta revealed that he was removed from several House committees without any prior discussion from the leadership of the House of Representatives.

Marcoleta was recently ousted from his roles as member and vice chair of key committees, including the Committee on Good Governance and Public Accountability, Committee on Energy, Justice, Public Accounts, and Constitutional Amendments.

He was also replaced in the Commission on Appointments, a powerful body in Congress.

According to Marcoleta, his removal may have been prompted by his firm stance on House rules.

In a previous hearing on the 2025 budget for the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Marcoleta recommended terminating the budget deliberations early as a gesture of “parliamentary courtesy” traditionally extended to the country’s top two offices—the Office of the President and the OVP.

Marcoleta believes his actions during the budget hearing might have led to his dismissal from his committee positions.
