The red storm surge warning remains raised in Northern and Northwestern Luzon despite Typhoon Uwan continuing to move away from land after weakening from a super typhoon.

According to the latest report from the state weather bureau, the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan are under red warning levels.

These areas may experience storm surges exceeding three meters, which could trigger coastal flooding and pose serious risks to communities.

Authorities warned that the threat may persist for several hours even as the typhoon moves farther into the West Philippine Sea.

Meanwhile, areas under the orange warning, equivalent to 2.1 to 3 meters of storm surge, include Antique, Aurora, Bataan, Isabela, La Union, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Pangasinan, Quezon, and Zambales.

Several coastal communities along the eastern seaboard already experienced flooding before Super Typhoon Uwan made landfall in Aurora on Sunday, November 10, 2025.
