Reckless Driving Incident Claims Woman’s Life

A suspected drunk driver crashed into a couple in Davao del Sur, killing a woman and severely damaging a nearby store.

Police said the driver, operating a multicab, hit the victims as they stood by the roadside at Purok 3, Barangay Balutakay, Hagonoy.

The incident occurred around 3 A.M., according to the initial police report.

The victim, identified as 33-year-old Jocelyn Jagolina Lumictin, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Her husband narrowly escaped injury by running to the other side of the road.

The multicab, heading towards Digos City, veered into a nearby store due to the force of the impact.

Authorities are holding the driver in custody and will file charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
