President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. revealed that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy was pressured into surrendering due to the presence of authorities at his hiding place.
Quiboloy reportedly requested that soldiers from the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) handle his surrender, as he expressed distrust in the police.
According to Marcos, he was kept updated on the developments regarding Quiboloy and approved the pastor’s request for soldiers to escort him. The president also assured the public that no special treatment would be given to the KOJC leader.
When asked about a possible U.S. extradition request for Quiboloy, President Marcos stated that extradition is not a priority at the moment. He emphasized that the government would focus on the pastor’s legal cases in the Philippines first.
