Marcos acknowledged that the issue frequently arises in discussions with Speaker Martin Romualdez and other lawmakers.

He stated that he inquires about congressional plans but recognizes that the impeachment process is now unavoidable.

Once an impeachment complaint is filed, he noted that there is nothing the executive branch can do, as it is a constitutional duty of legislators.

Marcos said he will act only as an observer and will not interfere in the impeachment trial.

He also advised his son, Ilocos Norte First District Rep. Sandro Marcos, to fulfill his constitutional duty, which led him to be the first to sign the fourth impeachment complaint against the Vice President.

The President expressed confidence that the impeachment proceedings would not hinder the country’s economic growth.

Previously, Marcos had stated that he preferred lawmakers not to pursue impeachment, believing it would not benefit the nation.
