MANILA — Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Emmanuel De Asis died from gunshot wounds to the head and multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest, according to the police’s medico-legal report.
On December 4, the suspect admitted to killing De Asis, claiming the crime was committed after he discovered the victim’s alleged affair with his wife.
The suspect reportedly shot De Asis inside Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig before dismembering his body, placing it in a sack, and transporting it to his ancestral land in Barangay Pucsusan, Baguio City, where it was buried.
De Asis’s dismembered body was found on December 7 in an advanced state of decomposition.
Murder charges have already been filed against the police couple, and the Southern Police District (SPD) has recommended their dismissal from service.
Police Brigadier General Bernard Yang, head of the SPD, stated that the two officers violated the Philippine National Police (PNP) code of conduct and, if proven guilty, could face a penalty that includes dismissal from service.
The suspects remain in the custody of the Taguig City Police.
