The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel BRP Cabra successfully prevented a China Coast Guard (CCG) ship from approaching the Zambales coastline.

In a video shared by PCG spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, Commodore Jay Tarriela, BRP Cabra maintained vigilant monitoring of the Chinese vessel’s illegal presence within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone.

According to Tarriela, the strategic maneuver of BRP Cabra effectively blocked the CCG vessel with bow number 3103 from coming closer to Zambales.

The PCG personnel aboard BRP Cabra skillfully repelled the Chinese ship, which was located approximately 80 to 90 nautical miles from the Zambales shoreline.

Crew members of BRP Cabra issued hourly radio challenges to the Chinese vessel, warning them of their blatant violation of international law.

The PCG reiterated its commitment to protecting the country’s maritime rights and enforcing international maritime laws while ensuring that tensions in the area do not escalate further.
