“Pastor Quiboloy has been captured,” Abalos announced.

The pastor had been sought for the past two weeks after a warrant of arrest was issued by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court. The warrants were initially served in June 2024 at various KOJC properties, but Quiboloy could not be located.

In July 2024, a ₱10 million reward was offered for information leading to his capture. By August 2024, the Court of Appeals issued a freeze order on Quiboloy’s bank accounts, as well as several properties, vehicles, and aircraft.

Earlier in September 2024, Quiboloy’s legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon, stated that the religious leader had left the KOJC compound as early as March 2024. Despite this, the Philippine National Police (PNP) continued their search, even digging across various parts of the 30-hectare KOJC compound.
