The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is currently monitoring three low pressure areas (LPAs), two outside and one within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to PAGASA’s Thursday forecast, the LPA inside PAR has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours and was last spotted 790 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

Meanwhile, an LPA outside PAR, located 475 kilometers northwest of Itbayat, has a moderate probability of intensifying into a tropical cyclone within the same timeframe.

The third LPA, spotted 2,070 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, also poses a low likelihood of cyclone formation within 24 hours.

In addition, the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” continues to affect large portions of the country.

Occasional rains are expected in Metro Manila, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique.
