Over 2,000 Homes Destroyed in Massive Fire at Isla Puting Bato, Tondo

A massive fire engulfed over 2,000 homes in Isla Puting Bato, Tondo, Manila, early this morning.

The blaze, which broke out at 8:02 a.m., escalated to the fifth alarm and reached Task Force Charlie before being brought under control.

Ground Commander FSInsp. Alejandro Ramos confirmed that more than 1,000 families from Puroks Uno, Dos, and Tres were displaced by the fire.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire reportedly started on the second floor of the Ingal family’s home in Purok Tres.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, with the fire officially declared under control at 2:07 p.m.

The estimated damage to properties has reached over ₱3.5 million, affecting hundreds of residents.

Evacuation centers have been set up to shelter displaced families while authorities continue their probe into the incident.

The Bureau of Fire Protection has urged the public to remain vigilant and proactive in preventing potential fire hazards.
