At the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame, about 700 officers formally took their oath and received their new insignia in the presence of their families, fellow officers, and commanding officials.

The ceremony was led by Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., who underscored that promotion brings greater responsibility and accountability.

Nartatez said the public judges police officers not by their years of training or sacrifices, but by their conduct in daily interactions and decision-making, especially under pressure.

He noted that public trust in the police can be strengthened or weakened by a single action.

He emphasized that promotions should be viewed not merely as personal milestones but as commitments to leadership, integrity, and service.

Officers were urged to lead by example, strictly follow rules, and avoid shortcuts, particularly in difficult situations.

Nartatez added that a higher rank carries higher accountability, stressing that authority should always be guided by responsibility and service to the public.

He called on newly promoted personnel to wear their ranks with humility, discipline, and courage.
