Over 100 Families Displaced Due to Armed Encounter in Aleosan, Cotabato

More than 100 families have been forced to evacuate due to an armed encounter between two groups in Aleosan, Cotabato.

According to reports from the Aleosan Police Department (PNP), a dialogue was immediately initiated by Mayor Eduardo Cabaya and MP Kellie Antao following the tensions that arose in Sitio Tubak, Barangay Pagangan, Aleosan.

The armed clash has instilled fear among local residents, prompting the evacuation of these families.

As of now, PNP data indicates that 126 families have been affected, including 92 from Sitio 2, 12 from Lower Pagangan, 10 from Sitio 6, 11 from Dalangaoen, and one from Nalapaan.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) has promptly provided assistance to the displaced families.

Meanwhile, investigations into the causes of the tensions are ongoing as military and police forces have been deployed to the area to prevent further encounters
