One Dead, Two Critical in Stabbing Incident at Silay City Fiesta

One person was killed and two others critically injured after a stabbing incident during the fiesta celebration in Hacienda Santo Rosario, Barangay Guimbala-on, Silay City, early yesterday morning.

The victim was identified as Jake Sombria, a resident of Hacienda Camantero 2, Barangay Guimbala-on, Silay City.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Bacolod, Jake’s sibling Jay Rose Sombria mentioned that a possible altercation between two groups may have led to the stabbing.

However, the exact reason for the confrontation has yet to be established.

According to Sombria, Jake’s group had a conflict with another group.

It was reported that Jake’s group was initially moving in one direction, but they were followed by the other group.

The reason why Jake’s group pursued the other group remains unclear.

The stabbing occurred in a dark, secluded area away from the fiesta venue.

Jake sustained a fatal stab wound to the chest, while the two others are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

Jay Rose also stated that five individuals involved in the confrontation have been arrested and are now in custody at the Silay City Police Station.

The victim had recently passed the application process for a job while still studying.

The family is still deciding whether to file charges against the suspects.
