NSC to Probe Documentary Claiming Alice Guo is a Chinese Spy

The National Security Council (NSC) will carefully examine a documentary by an international media network that allegedly identifies Alice Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, as a Chinese spy.

According to NSC Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya, the agency will validate the claims made by She Zhijiang, consulting with partner intelligence agencies abroad to piece together the full story and determine the true identity of Alice Guo.

In a recent quad committee hearing, Davao Oriental Representative Cheeno Almario presented the documentary featuring self-confessed Chinese spy She Zhijiang, who explicitly named Guo Hua Ping as his co-conspirator in espionage activities for China.

Malaya emphasized that the NSC cannot simply rely on one report, especially as She Zhijiang himself faces extradition charges.

There is a possibility that the claims could be part of a disinformation campaign by She to attract international attention and sympathy, potentially preventing his extradition to China.

The NSC must exercise caution in determining the veracity of She’s statements and whether other individuals are being falsely implicated.
