No new agreement has been reached regarding Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles from Western nations to target Russia after talks between US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a foreign policy summit at the White House on Friday.
Prime Minister Starmer confirmed this when asked whether he convinced Biden to allow Ukraine to deploy long-range Storm Shadow missiles against Russia. He stated that while they had a lengthy and productive discussion on various issues, including Ukraine, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific, no decision was made regarding the use of these weapons.
Meanwhile, the White House expressed serious concerns about Iran and North Korea providing lethal weapons to Russia.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Western nations of the potential for war if Ukraine were allowed to use long-range missiles against Russia, suggesting that such a move would signify direct NATO involvement in the Ukraine conflict.
Ukraine has repeatedly urged the UK and US to permit the use of long-range missiles on targets within Russia.
