Authorities successfully intercepted the suspects who attempted to flee in a vehicle.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Cauayan, PLt. Sonny Day Paragas, Deputy Chief of Police of the Maddela Police Station, said that in their haste to escape, the suspects’ getaway vehicle overturned, allowing authorities to corner them.

While the group engaged in a brawl with the victims, only one individual fired the shots, and they managed to escape.

Paragas said that a fistfight between two groups preceded the shooting incident, but the exact cause of the altercation is still under investigation.
