Nagdagdag ng spill way gate opening sa Magat Dam ang NIA-MARIIS dahil sa nararanasang pag-ulan sa Magat Water Shed.

Sa panayam ng Bombo Radyo Cauayan kay Engr. Carlo Ablan ang Division Manager, Dam and Reservoir Division ng sinabi niya na nagdagdag sila ng isang metrong opening sa isang spill way gate kaya ang total opening ngayon ay dalawang metro.

Ang pagdagdag nila ng gate opening ay dahil sa naranasang pag-ulan sa Ifugao Area na siyang nagdulot ng pagtaas ng inflow sa water shed area.

Ang kanilang pre-water releasing ay nakadipende naman sa magiging  forecast o lagay ng panahon sa mga susunod na araw.

Sa kasalukuyan ay nasa 191.12 meter above sea level ang antas ng tubig sa Dam at patuloy pang bumababa.

Hindi naman inaasahan na magkakaroon ng significant impact sa antas ng tubig sa Magat River ang pinakakawalan nilang tubig.
