Newborn Baby Abandoned Behind House, Rescued Alive

A newborn baby girl was discovered abandoned behind a house in Purok African Daisy-A, Baguio Proper, Baguio District, Davao City, early Thursday morning.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported receiving information from a concerned citizen about the baby at around 1:00 AM.

Barangay Kagawad Karen Cavite Mendez found the baby behind her residence and immediately sought help.

The newborn was rushed to the Isaac Robillo Hospital in Calinan, where she is currently under observation.

Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the mother and determine the circumstances surrounding the abandonment.

Police are urging residents with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
