Nora Aunor state funeral led to the temporary closure of several major roads in Manila on Tuesday, as the nation pays tribute to the late National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts.
The Manila local government enforced road closures in key areas to accommodate the solemn state funeral scheduled for the day of her burial.
Motorists were barred from passing through portions of Padre Burgos Avenue—from Mehan Garden to Quezon Boulevard Bridge—as well as Natividad Lopez Street, beginning at 7:00 a.m.
The Manila LGU advised drivers to use alternative routes to avoid severe traffic congestion in the affected zones.
City authorities also reminded the public of parking restrictions, specifically one-side parking rules, which are now being implemented along Taft Avenue up to Mehan Garden.
Arrival honors for the iconic actress commenced at 8:30 a.m. at Arroceros Forest Park, followed by a necrological service at the Metropolitan Theatre around 9:00 a.m.
At noon, full military honors are expected to take place at Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City to honor Nora Aunor’s cultural legacy.
