Motorcyclist Dies After Falling into Canal in San Joaquin, Iloilo

SAN JOAQUIN, ILOILO – A motorcyclist was killed after his vehicle crashed and fell into a canal in Barangay Cata-an, San Joaquin, Iloilo.

The victim, identified as James Sevilleno, 50, was a resident of the area.

According to Police Staff Sergeant Jessan Esguerra, the investigator from the San Joaquin Municipal Police Station, Sevilleno had just left his home and was headed toward town when the accident occurred.

Esguerra stated that the victim lost control of his motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Sevilleno fell into a canal, suffering a severe head injury that led to his death.

Though the victim was rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
