Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing Into Center Island in Koronadal City

The Koronadal center island accident claimed the life of a 43-year-old man after he crashed his motorcycle into a pole along the center island in Purok Promito, Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City on May 11, 2025.

Police Chief Master Sergeant Gandi Basan, Head of the City Traffic Division of the Koronadal PNP, confirmed the incident in an interview with Bombo Radyo Koronadal.

The victim was identified as Jidlaph Poticar, a resident of General Santos City, who was reportedly on his way to Koronadal when the accident happened.

Authorities said Poticar was riding his motorcycle along the road when he suddenly hit the pole.

Due to the strong impact, Poticar sustained a severe head injury and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine the exact cause of the accident and to implement additional safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
