Motorcyclist Bringing Christmas Goods Dies in Fatal Road Accident

A man was killed after colliding with a 10-wheeler truck loaded with sand on Iloilo Radial By-Pass Road 4 in Barangay Lanit, Jaro, Iloilo City.

The truck driver, Ronald Lara, 45, a resident of Passi City, said in an interview that the truck was en route from San Enrique, Iloilo to Lapuz, Iloilo City.

According to Lara, the truck was headed to a roll-on/roll-off vessel bound for Guimaras Island when the incident occurred.

The victim, who was driving a motorcycle, was reportedly speeding and swerving as he approached the intersection, hitting the truck’s front end.

The impact caused the victim to be dragged 30 meters, resulting in severe head injuries.

The collision also destroyed the pasta and macaroni the victim was carrying, intended for Christmas celebrations with his family.

He was rushed to a hospital in Iloilo City but was declared dead on arrival.
