Motorcycle-Van Collision Leaves One Dead, Another Injured

A motorcycle driver was declared dead on arrival after colliding with an armored van at the boundary of Tabucan and Molo in Iloilo City.

The driver has been identified as “Janjan,” 28, while the back rider, “Toto,” 31, sustained critical injuries.

The driver of the armored van, identified as “Bongbong,” 35, was uninjured.

According to Patrolman Rolly Lapido, Traffic Investigator of the Traffic Enforcement Unit, the armored van was traveling from Mandurriao District towards Molo.

The motorcycle, coming from Molo and headed toward the airport in Mandurriao, overshot its lane and collided with the armored van.

Lapido confirmed that both motorcycle riders were wearing helmets, but the driver succumbed to injuries due to the impact of the collision.

The back rider remains in critical condition and is being treated at the Western Visayas Medical Center.
