Motorcycle Passenger Dies After Tragic Crash in Ilocos Norte

A motorcycle passenger died after a tragic accident in Barangay Sta. Cruz Sur, Badoc, Ilocos Norte.

According to P/Capt. Elison Pasamonte, chief of the Badoc Municipal Police Station, the motorcycle driver was identified as 29-year-old Mark Jewish Cargado y Anteola, while the deceased passenger was 49-year-old Billy Anteola y Ricamor. Both were unmarried residents of Barangay Garreta, Badoc.

Based on the police investigation, the motorcycle was traveling south when it crashed into a Stop Animal Quarantine Checkpoint signage at the boundary of Badoc and Sinait.

The impact threw both the driver and the passenger off the motorcycle, causing multiple injuries.

Emergency responders rushed the victims to Corpuz Hospital in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, but the attending physician, Dr. Lorna Castillo, declared the passenger dead on arrival.

Authorities clarified that while the driver was speeding at the time of the accident, he was not under the influence of alcohol.
