Motorcycle Driver Killed in Collision with SUV in Ilocos Sur

A motorcycle driver died, and another was injured in a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV along the national highway in Barangay Aggay, Bantay, Ilocos Sur.

The driver of the Suzuki Ertiga SUV was identified as 24-year-old medical technologist Justine Bryant Querubin Castillo, a resident of Barangay Naguilian, Caoayan.

His passenger was Mica Taay Soriano, also 24, a medical technologist from Barangay Binalayangan, Sto. Domingo.

The motorcycle driver was identified as Prince Carlo Cabacungan, a resident of San Julian Norte, Vigan City, who was driving a Honda TMX.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Vigan, PCAPT. Sherwin Beronia explained that the SUV was traveling straight when the motorcycle, coming from the opposite direction, crossed into its lane, resulting in the collision.

Due to the force of the impact, the motorcycle driver was thrown almost 10 meters from the scene of the accident.

He suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

The driver of the SUV was unharmed, but his passenger sustained injuries on her left leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
